Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted Wednesday that his personal data was also compromised by bad actors.

“Was your data included in the data sold to the malicious third parties?” Democratic Rep. Anna Eshoo of California asked, after questioning Zuckerberg about “the Cambridge Analytica debacle.”

“Yes,” Zuckerberg responded.

“It was?” Eshoo asked.

Zuckerberg has embarked on an apology tour since his company disclosed that it was suspending Cambridge Analytica — a data analytics firm that worked with President Donald Trump’s campaign — from using its platform’s services for violating a data usage agreement. Two separate congressional hearings Tuesday and Wednesday are arguably part of this crusade. Enlightening the public that his personal data was also scooped up by other entities likely won’t earn him much empathy. It does potentially show the further scope of the breach.
