WATCH: Sarah Sanders Refuses To Say If Trump Supports McCarthy For Speaker

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders refused to say Frieday whether President Donald Trump thought Rep. Kevin McCarthy should be the next speaker of the House.

WATCH:

“Paul Ryan just endorsed Kevin McCarthy as speaker in an appearance, in an interview with Meet The Press,” a reporter said.

“Does the president believe that McCarthy should be the next speaker?”

“The president has a great relationship with Kevin McCarthy. But, in terms of an announcement about who he wants to sees as the next speaker, I don’t have any announcements on that front,” Sanders responded.
