Comedian Will Ferrell was rushed to the hospital late Thursday night after the SUV he was traveling rolled over in a two-car accident. The two other passengers in the vehicle were also taken to the hospital.

TMZ first reported the accident, saying that Ferrell was on the phone as he was being loaded into the ambulance. One of the other passengers, according to a witness, was “bleeding profusely” at the scene.

The actor – who had appeared as the “Anchorman” titular-character, Ron Burgundy, that evening at a San Diego event – was on his way home when the accident occurred. Around 11pm, the chauffeured SUV was sideswiped by another vehicle on I-5 in Orange County. Ferrell’s manager told Deadline that the driver of the other vehicle had fallen asleep at the wheel.

CBS News released an updated report on Friday morning, noting that the actor had been released from the hospital and had not suffered any serious injuries. The condition of the two other passengers in the car and those in the other vehicle have not been reported.
