Laura Ingraham Mixes It Up With Sebastian Gorka In Awkward Fox News Exchange Over Syria Strike

During a heated Friday night exchange on Fox News, Laura Ingraham took issue with former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka’s use of America’s founding fathers to defend President Trump’s Syria strike.

Gorka began the segment by defending President Trump’s strike on Syria as a message to Assad, who might otherwise think he “got away with it” and “can do it again.”

“Are we prepared to let that genie out of the bottle?” asked Gorka.

Ingraham, however, wanted to know how the United States planned to pay for it, especially in the absence of the international community.

“We hear a lot about the international community,” Ingraham asked. “Where the heck is the world community?”

“It doesn’t exist,” Gorka said. “Without American leadership there is no action.”

“Yeah, but we’re out of money,” the Fox News host said. “We have no dough. It’s not 1995 anymore Sebastian.”

“So, we let children get gassed?” Gorka said.

“I’m not saying that,” Ingraham said, “but if we have a country that is desperately in debt and getting weaker and weaker and weaker year after year, at some point somebody is gonna have to pay the piper.”

At which point the Fox News host contended that America will tire of war and elect someone like Elizabeth Warren.

During the ensuing dialogue, Gorka can be heard saying “Oh god,” to Ingraham’s contention that other countries “have big money.”

“If we do nothing, then America as a nation starts to lose its meaning for what it represents,” the former Trump aide said. “I know you believe in what that nation represents. You’re a believer. You believe in the eternal values that our founding fathers instilled in our founding documents. If those documents mean anything today, we take this action.”

“I think we can all pull out quotes from the framers about foreign entanglements,” Ingraham said with a chuckle.

“It’s not funny, Laura, it’s not funny,” Gorka insisted.

“Sebastian, don’t get on your moral high horse with me, don’t play that game with me tonight,” the Fox News host said. “You’re raising the flag of the framers. I could quote an Alexander Hamilton and a George Washington to you tonight where they’re warning us to not get entangled in foreign affairs.”
