New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman said former FBI Director James Comey’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was a dud and did not live up to the hype.

“There was a lot of anxiety about this Comey interview before it happened. And from the parts they ended up seeing on Friday prior to last night — they were feeling sort of relieved,” Haberman said Monday on CNN. “The book does not appear to contain a ton of news in terms of revelations.”

“The interview last night [on “20/20″] aggravated a lot of people,” she continued. “But it’s a much lower-grade burn than I thought it would be.”

It’s hard to believe the White House was surprised by anything Comey said, Haberman noted and thinks it will blow over rather quickly.

“[President Donald Trump] doesn’t’ like James Comey obviously,” Haberman concluded. “There’s a part of this he enjoys but I don’t think that there is a huge wave of shock about anything Comey said.”
