Stephon Clark’s older brother was arrested Thursday for making criminal threats to a person, felony assault, felony vandalism and abusing the 911 emergency line, according to a report.

Stevante Clark, 25, was arrested and taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail around 12 p.m., Thursday afternoon, Fox News reported. The press release from the Sacramento police department encouraged any witnesses with information regarding the incident to contact them.

Clark has recently been in the news for protesting the death of his 22-year-old brother, Stephon, who two police officers shot eight times on March 18. He disrupted a city council meeting in late March, sat on top of the lectern, and told Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg to shut up, The Sacramento Bee reported. Clark was holding a gun, but he was actually holding a cell phone, the officers thought. The incident has sparked protests across the country.

Stephon Clark’s family conducted an independent autopsy on his body, which revealed eight bullets entered Clark’s body. Six of the bullets went through his back, and the other two came through his side and his left thigh. (RELATED: Independent Autopsy Reveals Cops Shot Man 6 Times In The Back)

Clark is set to appear in court Friday afternoon.
