The White House is standing by Admiral Ronny Jackson as its nominee to be the next Secretary of Veterans Affairs amidst a delay on his confirmation hearing over allegations of fostering a hostile work environment.
“He’s served as the physician to three Presidents—Republican and Democrat—and been praised by them all. Admiral Jackson’s record of strong, decisive leadership is exactly what’s needed at the VA to ensure our veterans receive the benefits they deserve,” White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a Tuesday statement.
Jackson’s confirmation hearing was delayed Monday evening after Senate Democrats said they needed time to investigate allegations that Jackson fostered a hostile work environment at the White House physicians office. These include serious of allegations excessive drinking on the job and improperly dispensing medication on the job.

Jackson previously served as a physician in the office of the White House including as the personal doctor to Trump and former President Barack Obama.
