Chelsea Clinton made Katy Tur eat her words Wednesday after the MSNBC host insinuated the former first daughter was lying over reports on the latest Hillary Clinton campaign book.
The incident started when Clinton accused The New York Times’ Amy Chozick — author of “Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling” — of not properly fact checking her claims.
Hi @amychozick! Hearing there are more tidbits about me in your book which were easily fact checked and you fact checked…none of them. Here’s an easy one: I’ve never gotten hair keratin treatment. The others would have been equally easy!

Naturally, media figures defended Chozick. Tur shot down Clinton’s claims by saying that Chozick’s fact checker also fact checked her own book, and was therefore infallible.
The man fact checking @amychozick‘s book is the same one who fact checked mine. The same one who is so nit picky that he called Delta to confirm flight times. I would bet on Chozick here, not @ChelseaClinton. https://t.co/SihgyMNsqW

Chelsea quickly set the record straight…
Hi Katy! Neither Amy nor her fact checker reached out to me or my office at any point, about anything. I care about facts as I believe you do too. https://t.co/6mUDgxch4T

… and Katy folded like a lawn chair.
Fair point. I can only vouch for my own experience.
