A Chinese tech company has announced an app that can make any woman look like a supermodel by tightening their waists, lengthening their legs, and augmenting their breasts in pictures without altering the background.
A currently unnamed app by Beijing company called SenseTime allows female users to alter their height and width without affecting the background. The app uses augmented reality technology in order to create such shocking results, according to the Daily Mail Tuesday.
The promotional video for this controversial app appeared on the Chinese social media site Weibo. The video shows a girl dancing as a user makes her body appear slimmer and taller. Weibo has more than 340 million users, and the video had 145 million plays as of April 28.
SenseTime features other products that use augmented reality technology. The products are available for a mobile app to allow for users to beautify their images for social media accounts. Facial alignment technology allows for the app to locate the user’s face and alter the images.
SenseTime provides other features for Weibo users such as beautifying photos and different effects.
