In a new video on the front page of his website, Kanye West says that wearing a Make America Great Again hat is like a “fight for equality.”
“Me putting the hat on forces an evolution because, even for me, I know so much more, in the past three days because I’m getting this energy — positive or negative, agreeing with me, disagreeing with me — and it’s like…sharpens the diamond and shit,” Kanye says in the video, which also features rapper TI.
TI agrees that Kanye has good intentions but adds that his route to enlightenment has been “unorthodox” and possibly even “thoughtless.”
“When I wear that hat, it’s like a fight for equality, like, oh I can wear that hat too,” West replied. “I really want to take that hurt off of [people] and let them understand hat I did not wear that hat to hurt them. Half the shit Trump does I don’t agree with.”
West added that the thing he loves about Trump is that he inspires people to do the impossible.
