While many mainstream pundits and commentators have condemned Michelle Wolf’s standup routine from Sunday’s White House Correspondents Dinner, Robert De Niro doesn’t see anything wrong with it.

In case you were smart enough to miss it, here are a few highlights from Sunday’s exhibition.

After hearing Michelle Wolf’s voice paired with her insightful and totally well-adjusted comments about abortion and Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ lies, it becomes abundantly clear why even people like Mika Brzezinski condemned Wolf’s comments.

But not everybody was repulsed by the dinner. Actor and notorious Trump hater Robert De Niro simply couldn’t get enough, or so he said at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s 45th Chaplin Award Gala.

“There was a lot of truth in Michelle Wolf’s jokes,” he said, with apparent disregard for subject verb agreement.  “And the bullies and liars are still intimidated by strength and the truth. Where we run into trouble is when we allow the bullies and liars to dictate the conversation. The [Association] distanced themselves from Michelle Wolf’s performance. Shame on them — stand up, strap on your balls and deal.”

It’s pretty ironic that De Niro is suddenly calling for America to toughen up. He’s been one of the thinnest-skinned celebrities since Trump’s victory. He’s previously called the president a “scumbag,” toyed with hypothetically punching him in the face, and spends most of his days just waiting for him to be impeached.

It’s safe to say that Trump has gotten to Robert De Niro. So it’s pretty ironic that the full-time whiner is suddenly telling everybody else to grow up and stop whining.
