Is the reign of “Roseanne” finally over?

While the ABC reboot may have dominated ratings for the first three episodes, this week’s ratings suggest the show’s monstrous popularity may have been phased out. (RELATED: You Won’t Believe The Monster Ratings The ‘Roseanne’ Premiere Got)

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that early ratings show a 23 percent decline in viewership compared to previous weeks.

“The ABC comedy landed with 10.3 million viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49, with respective spills of 23 and 26 percent,” The Hollywood Reporter says. “It’s the first big drop for Roseanne since it returned to the air with the biggest scripted telecast of the season.”

The dramatic dip in viewership may be partially attributed to NCIS’s return, which was off air last week during a brief hiatus.

And while “Roseanne” lost a full 3 million viewers on Tuesday night, it still won out for live telecasts. It’s important to keep in mind that these are early ratings. And while NCIS came out as the clear Tuesday night winner, the number two slot is too close to call.
