Former Trump aide Michael Caputo said he was never once asked about Michael Cohen’s connection to Stormy Daniels when he was interviewed by federal investigators.

“Frankly, there was very little discussion of the President of the United States,” Caputo told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day” Thursday. “And they didn’t ask me about anybody else with the last name Trump … I thought the focus pretty much was on campaign operatives and people outside the campaign.”

Cuomo asked if there were any specific questions regarding Cohen, and Caputo said, “No questions about Cohen in regards to Stormy Daniels and not a mention of Rudy Giuliani.”

Caputo said he felt a duty to cooperate with the government but continued to claim he was never involved in Russian collusion.

“I think they have to ask and they got the answer,” he continued. “The fact of the matter is, I don’t know anything about Russian collusion. I didn’t see any of it. And I certainly wasn’t involved in any.”

Caputo said he believes the Mueller probe should end and should never have been started in the first place.

“I think this investigation should end,” he concluded. “I don’t think it ever should have begun. But as an American, I enjoy the freedoms of this nation and I think I have a responsibility to participate in something if the government thinks it’s important.”
