Rosie O’Donnell Has Been Staying Up Late Making Illegal Donations To Democrats

Rosie O’Donnell’s campaign donations to Democrats have gone over legal limits, according to a report by the New York Post. She gave a total of $5,400 in illegal donations to five different candidates, as reported in Federal Elections Commission (FEC) filings.

O’Donnell responded to inquiries from the Post via email, claiming that her excessive donations — made through the online liberal platform ActBlue — were completely accidental and “nothing nefarious.”

“I was not choosing to over donate. If 2700 is the cut off — [candidates] should refund the money. I don’t look to see who I can donate most to … I just donate assuming they do not accept what is over the limit.

My anxiety is quelled by donating to those opposing Trump [and] his agenda — especially at night — when most of these were placed.”

However, according to the Post’s report, O’Donnell’s illegal contributions were made using four variations of her name and five different addresses.

The candidates who received the questionable donations were Conor Lamb (D-Pa.), Doug Jones (D-Ala.), Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.), and Omar Vaid (D-N.Y.).

Of the five candidates who received donations from O’Donnell that exceeded legal limits, only one responded to the Post’s questions. The campaign finance director for Omar Vaid, a Staten Island congressional candidate, said that the excess funds had been applied to the wrong election by accident. The campaign promised to amend its filings in order to comply with FEC guidelines.
