Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza called out Rosie O’Donnell for alleged campaign finance violations on “Fox & Friends” Monday and said it would be hypocritical if she wasn’t held accountable.

D’Souza was convicted of violating campaign finance law in 2014 and was sentenced to serve eight months in “community confinement.” He said he became a political target of the Obama administration after the release of his film “2016: Obama’s America.”

“It seems clear from what we know that Rosie broke the law and she broke the law five times,” D’Souza said. “So it’s in a sense an egregious violation. Now, what makes it particularly sneaky on her part is that she used four different names and five different addresses. So it seems clear that she knew what she was doing and she was trying to cover her tracks.”

The candidates who received the donations were all Democrats, including Rep. Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania, Sen. Doug Jones of Alabama, Rep. Adam Schiff of California, Lauren Underwood of Illinois and Omar Vaid of New York.

D’Souza said he suffered the full wrath of the federal government because of his political beliefs and doesn’t expect O’Donnell to receive the same treatment.

“I think in my case, a congressional oversight committee has my file. And it very clearly red flags me as a conservative who made a movie critical of the Obama administration,” D’Souza continued. “So the FBI, which uncovered this, was clearly signaling to Obama and to the Holder Justice Department ‘hey, this guy is a political enemy, let’s prosecute him.’ So, what’s interesting is that my case is quite clearly a political hit.”

“What’s going to happen to Rosie is going to be a very interesting question of political equity,” he concluded. “Remember, in justice, it’s not just a matter that you break the law. It’s a matter of whether other people who broke the law who are in a similar situation get similar treatment.”
