Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming said the GOP can expect big gains in November’s midterm elections if President Donald Trump continues to tout the country’s strong economic growth.
“Well, people are looking at the economy,” Barrasso said on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday. “Sixty-six percent of Americans, according to one new poll said the economy is doing very well. People see it in their paycheck.”
“They see it in their home communities. I saw it Wyoming this past weekend. You go and talk to small business owners who say ‘we’re hiring.’ People are getting to keep more of their money. Bonuses are being paid. So it’s not just in one location. It’s all across the country.'” (RELATED: Rick Scott Thanks God For President Trump)
Barrasso said as long as Trump sticks to his guns and highlights the administration’s economic success, Republicans will be hard to beat at the ballot box.
“That’s why this is so strong and I think it’s going to help us in November as long as the president keeps telling the story,” Barrasso concluded. “Because it’s such good story to tell. Because of the impact at home.”
