Fox News anchor Bret Baier defended his network from attacks during a Thursday appearance on ABC’s “The View.”

Baier apologized to Meghan McCain for the insensitive comments about her father made by White House aide Kelly Sadler, asserting that there should be a level of “decency” in the executive branch.
“The View” used his comments to attack Fox News, suggesting that his network does not operate with decency.
“You’re talking about decency, and decency is important and we have lots of young people who watch your network who are taking a page out of that book,” Whoopi Goldberg said. “As an American, does it bother you that we just can’t seem to say, ‘I’m sorry, I made a mistake’?”
Baier responded affirmatively and told the ladies, “I cover all of this.”
“Some of the loudest critics of Fox don’t watch my show and I’m on the news side and there’s an opinion side,” he explained. “And I say to people, just watch my show three times then drop me an email and a tweet and tell me what you think.”
“I’m going to cover all sides fairly so people can make up their minds,” he added.
Joy Behar asked if the narrative that everything is fake news is “dangerous.” Baier responded that journalists getting “over their skis” hurts the profession.
“There are facts out there and we need to try to strive to get there, but if you go too far and throw your opinions into it, either side, it hurts us all journalistically,” Baier concluded.
