A Florida town blasted an alert for residents to look out for zombies due to a power outage, The Associated Press reported Monday.

People in Lake Worth, Fla., got a surprising message urging them to keep their eyes open for undead corpses as the culprits of a power outage Sunday, according to AP. A 1:45 a.m. text alert stated over 7,000 residents lost power “due to extreme zombie activity,” Palm Beach Post reported.

“Power outage and zombie alert for residents of Lake Worth and Terminus,” the alert system said. (RELATED: Collusion, Corrections And ZOMBIE FACTS That Refuse To Die)

“We are looking into reports that the system mentioned zombies,” Ben Kerr, Lake Worth’s public information officer, said in a Facebook message, according to AP. “I want to reiterate that Lake Worth does not have any zombie activity currently and apologize for the system message.”

Lake Worth’s power outage lasted for 27 minutes.
