On his way back to Washington, D.C., from a roundtable discussion on MS-13 and illegal immigration in New York on Wednesday, President Trump made time to meet local law enforcement before boarding Marine One in Bethpage.

In a video clip posted to Twitter, Trump can be seen making his way toward Marine One when he notices a group of local N.Y. officers standing off to the side and rushes over to shake their hands.

It’s obvious by viewing this video that the quick meet-and-greet was not scheduled in Trump’s planner; he went out of his way to acknowledge the same people he voices his support for during televised speeches and posts on Twitter.

Dan Scavino Jr., who posted the video to Twitter, captioned the video, “@POTUS @realDonaldTrump loves our law enforcement officers all around the country – as seen here with @NYSPolice and @NassauCountyPD on his way to Marine One in Bethpage, New York. #LESM”

This candid video of the president’s unwavering encouragement of U.S. law enforcement is proof that he recognizes the efforts of the people who risk their lives to protect our country.
