Donald Trump Jr. used his Instagram account on Friday to criticize the platform and its owner, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, for a warning that appeared saying posts including his name could “encourage” harmful behavior and “even lead to death.”
The Trump Organization head included a video showing a friend searching his name and receiving a warning that said, “Posts with words or tags you’re searching for often encourage behavior that can cause harm and even lead to death.”
Additionally, like Diamond and Silk and other conservative figures, Trump Jr. complained of a significant decrease in followers and exposure on the platform. (RELATED: Ted Cruz Grills Zuckerberg Over FB’s Censorship Of Conservatives)
“For weeks I’ve been watching my #instagram analytics and noticed a crazy drop off in new followers,” wrote Trump Jr. “I used to average around 10,000 + new followers a week and then it just dropped off. See screenshot from last week where despite over 7,000,000 impressions THAT WEEK I added 0 new followers.”
After pointing out the picture and video showing the friend searching his name, Trump Jr. fired back at Zuckerberg and the platform’s “hysteria” about “any conservative thought.” (RELATED: Facebook Reveals Its Censorship Rules)
“REALLY?!?! Are you fricken kidding me? @zuck this is insane,” he wrote. “I get that my 3 year old Chloe can be pretty aggressive as are a few of my humorous memes, but this is ridiculous. If this account ‘could cause harm and even lead to death’ we have serious problems. The #shadowban nonsense and the hysteria RE any conservative thought has to stop.”
Efforts by USA Today and The Hill to replicate the warning were not successful.
