Former President George H.W. Bush, 93, spent Saturday morning greeting veterans at the American Legion Post 159 in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Bush, a World War II veteran himself, was joined at Post 159’s monthly pancake breakfast by his former National Security Advisor Gen. Brent Scowcroft and local veterans.(RELATED: Here’s How George H.W. Bush Secretly Honored His Wife Barbara For One Last Time At Her Funeral)

The former president has spent every summer in Kennebunkport since he was a child, with only one notable exception: the time he spent overseas, serving as a naval aviator during the war.

Bush recently arrived at the family summer home at Walker’s Point following the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush and a bout with an infection that spread to his blood.
