Utah Senatorial hopeful Mitt Romney took aim at President Donald Trump’s personal character in a recent interview with NBCNews.
Mitt Romney: “I don’t think I would point to the president as a role model for my grandkids on the basis of his personal style. He has departed in some cases from the truth, and has attacked in a way that I think is not entirely appropriate ” pic.twitter.com/OpVxrSf4vs

Romney’s comments came despite an endorsement of his Senate candidacy in February 2018.
.@MittRomney has announced he is running for the Senate from the wonderful State of Utah. He will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch, and has my full support and endorsement!

Romeny and Trump have a spotted history throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, with the former Republican presidential hopeful disavowing Trump completely. Romney noted during the NBCNews interview, however, that Trump has “exceeded” his expectations on the policy front after the two had a public reconciliation during the presidential transition when he publicly considered Romney for the position of Secretary of State.
