Mueller Team Has Spent More Than $7.7 Million On Russia Probe In A Year

The office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller spent more than $4.5 million on the Russia investigation from October 2017 to March 2018, bringing the total spending to more than $7.7 million.

The entire Justice Department incurred almost another $5.4 million for supporting the Russia investigation in the latest report, spending a total of almost $10 million on the Russia investigation From October 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018. The Special Counsel’s Office expense report states the DOJ’s spending amount “would have incurred for the investigations irrespective of the existence of the SCO.”

A majority of the latest expenses from the Special Counsel’s Office went to “personnel compensation and benefits” — more than $2.7 million.

Mueller’s office also spent millions on a combination of travel, transportation, rent, contracts and supplies, plus more than $200,000 on IT services.

It spent more over the last six months than it did during the first four months of its investigation, which accounted for around $3.2 million.

The Special Counsel’s Office has spent more than $7.7 million since May 2017, and the DOJ has spent around $17 million on the Russia investigation. (RELATED: Mueller Spent $3.2 Million In First Four Months Of Russia Probe)
