Former NBA player Dennis Rodman will be traveling to Singapore for the summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-Un, according to the New York Post.

The historic summit is scheduled to take place on June 12 after weeks of speculation that it wouldn’t happen. (RELATED: Trump: North Korea Summit Is BACK ON)

“No matter what you might think about his presence. One thing’s for sure the ratings will be huge,” a Post source said. “A lot of times in situations that involve complex diplomacy countries like to identify ambassadors of goodwill and whether you agree with it or not Dennis Rodman fits the bill.”

Rodman and Kim have struck up an unlikely friendship over the past couple of years.

In an interview with TMZ, Rodman said he gave Kim a copy of “The Art of The Deal” for his birthday last year.

“I think [Kim] didn’t realize who Donald Trump was at that time, I guess, until he started to read the book and started to get to understand him. Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un are pretty much the same,” he later added.
