Eagles Player: President Trump’s Cancellation Of Team’s White House Visit Was ‘A Lie’

Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins took to Twitter to offer his side in the ongoing saga between the Philadelphia Eagles and the White House Tuesday afternoon.


“The decision was made to lie,” Jenkins wrote, “and paint the picture that these players are anti-America, anti-flag, anti-military.”

He added, “It takes courage to stand up for the TRUTH even if it’s not a popular one. That’s what my colleagues and I have been facing for the past two years. [We will] continue to fight for impacted citizens and give a voice to those who never had one.”

His response came in light of the White House’s statement, which said, in part, “The vast majority of the Eagles team decided to abandon their fans.” (RELATED:

Instead of hosting the team, President Trump will be celebrating the United States with the U.S. Marine Band and the U.S. Army Chorus performing the Star-Spangled Banner.
