Eric Trump believes his father’s life has become “exponentially worse” since his decision was announced at New York City’s Trump Tower in June 2015.

“My father’s life became exponentially worse the minute he decided to run for president. He didn’t need to do this, but he was immensely frustrated with where the country was going,” Trump told Westchester Magazine.

“There would be far fewer headaches if it weren’t for politics,” said Eric Trump, who also said he believes those headaches are worth it “when you know you’re in it for the right reasons.”

The president’s son spoke of the media abuse that “comes with the territory.”

“Every day, you get abused by somebody,” said Trump, “and the next thing you know, you’re being parodied on Saturday Night Live. It comes with the territory. We stood center stage with my father during the campaign and beyond.” (RELATED: Saturday Night Life Writer Smears Donald Trump’s 10-Year-Old Son)

That’s fair game, he said, because “we are adults; we’ve developed a bit of an armor … but Barron and Tiffany should be 100 percent off-limits.”

While his sister Ivanka is an adviser to the president, Eric has helps his older brother Donald Trump Jr. run his father’s business as executive vice president of the Trump Organization.
