Kim Kardashian West responded immediately when she learned on Wednesday that President Donald Trump had commuted the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, the woman whose case the reality star had taken on as a personal aspiration.

Calling it the “best news ever,” Kardashian included in her tweet the praying hands symbol, indicating that she saw the news as an answer to prayer. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Breaks Silence On Meeting With Trump)

Kardashian had visited the White House a week earlier, talking to the president about the broader subject of prison reform and Johnson’s specific case. She said, following that meeting, “I think that he really spent the time to listen to our case that we were making for Alice [Marie Johnnson]. He [Trump] really understood, and I am very hopeful that this will turn out really positively.”

President Trump announced on Wednesday morning that he would commute Johnson’s sentence. She had already served 21 years of a life sentence for a first-time non-violent drug offense.
