President Donald Trump ridiculed Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill on Wednesday for use of a private plane while on a campaign RV tour around her state.

McCaskill is in hot water after The Washington Free Beacon used private data to show that her private plane followed the exact route of her RV tour. The senator confirmed the plane’s use saying, “I added some stops with the use of the plane, but I was on the RV so much that the broken drawer drove me crazy,” but insisted that the Free Beacon story was “not accurate.”

McCaskill will face off against Republican Josh Hawley in the 2018 midterm elections in a state that Trump won with 56.8 percent of the vote. The report drew immediate criticism from Hawley, who noted that it showed she was “out of touch.”

The National Republican Senatorial Committee also noted in a statement after the report that it showed “Claire McCaskill is desperate to put on a folksy act when she’s back in Missouri, but she’s too much of an elitist to even stick to a three-day RV tour without hopping on her private plane.”
