White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was forced to handle a reporter talking out of turn Thursday.

WATCH:

Brian Karem, a CNN contributor and Playboy magazine White House correspondent, interrupted the briefing to tell the press secretary that she is a parent of young children and parents at the border are being separated from their families.

“Don’t you have any empathy? Come on, Sarah. You’re a parent. Don’t you have any empathy for what these people are going through?” he asked. Karem then repeated the question two more times, interrupting the briefing.

“Settle down. I’m trying to be serious but I’m not going to have you yell out of turn,” Sanders responded. “Hey, Brian, I know you want to get more TV time but that’s not what this is about. I’m not going to recognize you.”

Karem tweeted earlier Thursday asking if the press secretary has “any empathy for those less fortunate whose children are ripped from them and then are caged?”

SHS seems upset. Her evening with her children disturbed. So @PressSec do you have any empathy for those less fortunate whose children are ripped from them and then are caged? https://t.co/kpFVA1oiyQ

Karem did not provide any proof in his tweet to support his claim that children are being caged.
