Joe Scarborough referred to former FBI Director James Comey’s critics as “clowns” on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday and said there is no evidence of Comey showing favor towards former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“It is pretty remarkable, and we heard it after the election, that on election day there was only one campaign being investigated and it wasn’t Hillary Clinton’s campaign,” Scarborough said. “James Comey bent over backwards to make sure that nobody knew about the Russia investigation because it would be considered an October surprise. Scarborough said conservatives are acting ridiculous and thinks it’s absurd to believe Comey was actually in league with the Clinton camp.
“How Donald Trump or anybody, Rudy Giuliani or any of those clowns that are holding press conferences on Capitol Hill attacking Comey as somehow being an agent for Hillary Clinton — how they can do that with a straight face defies logic,” he concluded.
