President Donald Trump said Alice Johnson thanked him for being released from jail but explained that the credit should go to Kim Kardashian.

“Kim Kardashian came in and [Johnson] — 22 years in jail,” Trump explained during his appearance Friday on “Fox & Friends” when asked about the recent pardon he granted for the great-grandmother who was serving a life sentence for a non-violent drug offense, according to TMZ.

The president explained that he didn’t know the reality star, but that she was very capable and nice.

“I met her. [Kim] was really nice. I have to say, ” Trump added. “But she came in and she said, ‘This is a very unfair situation.’ I looked at it, and I agreed.”

“She’s in there for 22 years. She’s got another 20 years to serve,” he continued. “And you’ve got drug dealers that are doing big stuff and they get a two-month sentence. It was just unfair.”

“And I thought it was a beautiful scene when that woman left prison and ran over to … a couple of big strong guys, some wonderful women. They were all hugging and kissing. Everyone’s crying,” Trump shared. “To me, that was a beautiful scene.”

“She thanked me, but you know, thank Kim,” he added. “Because I wouldn’t have known about it.”

The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star has previously explained that she came across Johnson’s story one day while scrolling through Twitter and was moved to reach out and try to help her.
