President Donald Trump took aim at Democratic House leader Nancy Pelosi in a Thursday tweet amidst an ongoing debate over illegal immigration.

Trump has sparred with Pelosi repeatedly in recent days as Democratic lawmakers refuse to consider legislation that would end family separation at the U.S.-Mexico border as a consequence of criminal prosecution.
The Trump administration maintains that this position essentially demonstrates that no solution is acceptable to Democratic lawmakers other than catch and release, or an open border.
“The Democrats want open borders,” he declared a rally Wednesday evening, saying, “‘Let everybody come in. Let everybody pour in. We don’t care. Let them come in from the Middle East. Let them come in from all over the place. We don’t care.'”
He concluded, “We’re not going to let that happen.”
