Veteran Marine sniper and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer laid down a challenge on Thursday for actor Peter Fonda following the latter’s now-deleted Twitter rant attacking those he had deemed responsible for the separation of parents and children who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
@DonaldJTrumpJr I have a great idea. Why don’t we put @iamfonda in a cage with me so he can see what threatening an 11 yr old should get him?

In a series of tweets, Fonda had lashed out at ICE agents, DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, but it was a tweet calling for the kidnapping and caging of Barron Trump that raised eyebrows and eventually got the Secret Service involved.
Trump Jr., who had also called out Sony Pictures Classics over Fonda’s upcoming film, tweeted his appreciation to Meyer.
Thanks @Dakota_Meyer always great to have a Medal of Honor recipient on your side. Much better than a washed up hollywood liberal encouraging child rape. I’ll take that trade all day every day. You’re the man. https://t.co/QWFwT6D4LE

Fonda eventually apologized for his comments, which were deleted, saying that they were a product of his emotional response to what was going on at the border.
