Meghan McCain challenged President Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border Monday, during a heated exchange on ABC’s “The View.” Citing the variable terrain and the fact that landowners weren’t likely to sell, she said, “It is a cluster blank, and it’s never going to happen.”

During a conversation regarding the plan (or lack thereof) to reunite children who have been separated from their parents following illegal border crossings, McCain turned the conversation to the wall.

“One thing I want to say about the freaking wall, because it makes me crazy every time it’s brought up … I’m from a border state. It’s impossible to build this wall on the terrain. There’s water, there’s huge mountains, there’s cactus, it would be impossible to build it in this way.”

McCain went also noted that ranch owners would likely be reluctant to sell the land the government would need to build any kind of a wall, and instead offered a suggestion of her own. “I don’t understand why we don’t just have a virtual drone wall,” she said, “Just drone the whole thing and see who’s crossing or something like that … It is a cluster blank, it is never going to happen.”
