CNN’s Chris Cillizza Gets Dragged For Tweet About Amy Coney Barrett’s ‘Appearance’

CNN editor Chris Cillizza claimed on Monday that the president will nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court because of her “image” and “appearance.”

“If you believe Trump makes decisions based on image and appearance (and he does), then here’s the next Supreme Court Justice,” Cillizza tweeted with a photo of Barrett.

Cillizza wrote in an accompanying article that Trump is obsessed with “image” and will appreciate that Barrett is a young woman with seven children.

“How you look is a major marker for how you will do in Trump’s world,” Cillizza said. “You need to look the part for him to imagine you in the job.”

Twitter users immediately attacked Cillizza for the seemingly sexist tweet and article that suggested Trump would primarily pick Barrett because of her appearance and not her accomplishments.
