Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano said President Donald Trump is more interested in the character of his Supreme Court nominee, than their view on Roe v. Wade.

“I don’t know who those people are going to be or what kind of vetting has been done to the background or how they could add pro-choice people to the list when the president has been so unabashedly pro-life,” Napolitano said on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday. (RELATED: Napolitano Says Justice John Roberts Will Protect Abortion Rights)

“In terms of what went on yesterday with the four sitting federal appellate judges … I’ve been through this with this president. He’s more interested in: ‘What are you like as a person? What are your values? What is my inner self, Donald Trump seeing in you, your inner self?'” he said.

He said Trump asks his judicial nominees about everyday things, to get a sense of what type of person they are away from the bench.

“He will start out the conversation, perhaps talking about the Yankees or one of his favorite topics of all time, golf. Just to see how you interact with him,” Napolitano concluded. “He’s really a master at judging people on the basis of throwing them softballs and seeing how they hit them back.”
