Hamburgers are the most patriotic food Americans can consume on Independence Day, according to a poll by SurveyMonkey released on Wednesday.

Overall, 35 percent of those surveyed said hamburgers were “the most American food or drink at a July 4 cookout,” according to the poll.

America’s polarization, however, even extended to July 4 food. While hamburgers led as the most American food for Trump voters — with 39 percent saying they were the most American — Clinton voters said hot dogs were the most American, leading at 33 percent. (RELATED: Less Than One-Third Of Democrats Are ‘Extremely Proud’ To Be Americans)

No matter what people think is the most American food, they will likely consume a lot of both this holiday week. About 150 million hot dogs are eaten every July 4 week, according to a June 25 article from WalletHub.

Americans spent $804 million on beef for July Fourth in 2017, according to the same WalletHub article, the most of any food category listed. Americans buy an average of 190 million pounds of beef in the two weeks leading up to July 4, the article said. Chicken wasn’t nearly as popular as any of the food spending listed, with $371 million spent in 2017.
