Trump’s frustrated tweets come as his legislative efforts have fallen flat in Congress with two administration-backed bills failing to garner enough votes in the House of Representatives in recent weeks. Trump also reversed his administration policy of prosecuting all illegal immigrants at the border after intense media scrutiny of family separation.
Several GOP lawmakers have indicated they may be open to a standalone bill which solves the issue of family separation at the border and reforms the U.S. asylum process. Trump’s second tweet rejecting the increased hiring of immigration judges indicates he is not open to this solution.
