CNN profiled President Donald Trump’s reported “short list” of Supreme Court nominees on Thursday night, but they apparently only felt the need to mention one candidate’s family.

WATCH:

Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who currently serves on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, was once a clerk for Justice Antonin Scalia and a member of the Federalist Society. Instead of bolstering her qualifications for the seat, CNN lead with the fact that she is a mother to seven children.

“Amy Coney Barrett, the only female nominee Trump seems to be considering, is a former Notre Dame Law professor,” CNN reported. “She’s 46 and has seven children.”

CNN went on to suggest that Barrett’s Catholic faith is controversial and played a clip of Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein stating, “the dogma lives loudly within you.”

CNN’s decision to mention Barrett’s family was especially odd because they did not do the same for the two potential male SCOTUS picks, Brett Kavanaugh and Raymond Kethledge.

Kavanaugh and Kethledge’s age were brought up. Kavanuagh is married but does not appear to have any children, while Kethledge is married with two children.
