President Trump lamented the culture lost by the immigration of “millions and millions of people” into Europe in an interview published Thursday in the British tabloid The Sun.

“I think what has happened to Europe is a shame,” Trump told The Sun’s Tom Newton Dunn. “Allowing the immigration to take place in Europe is a shame.”

Trump pointed out that immigration has “changed the fabric of Europe” in a negative way.

“I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it’s never going to be what it was and I don’t mean that in a positive way,” Trump said. “So I think allowing millions and millions of people to come into Europe is very, very sad. I think you are losing your culture. Look around. You go through certain areas that didn’t exist ten or 15 years ago.” (RELATED: Tucker Exposes ‘Ruling Class’ Behind Border Policy Uproar: ‘Their Goal Is To Change Your Country Forever’)

Trump’s interview with The Sun took place soon after he landed in the U.K. to meet with British leaders.

Europe has long been a key destination for Muslim migrants coming from the Middle East, but EU Parliament President Antonio Tajani said late last year that overcrowding, war and poverty could also drive “millions” of additional migrants from Africa. “Without a strategy we will have terrorism, illegal immigration, instability,” said Tajani. “There are too many voices on Libya, on Africa.”
