CNN anchor Don Lemon wondered Monday night if President Trump can still be called the “leader of the free world” after his meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Finland.

Trump was heavily criticized by the media for suggesting that he believes Putin’s denials of U.S. election meddling during a Monday news conference. Lemon piled on during his show, openly questioning if Trump still deserves to be called the leader of the free world or the United States.

“Can we still call President Trump the leader of the free world? Can we still call him the leader of the United States?” Lemon asked. “He has gone from snarling alpha dog in Brussels, blasting our allies, to Putin’s lapdog in Helsinki.”

“There have been so many moments over the past year and a half when we all thought that this was madness,” he continued. “But this time, this is different. This is not just Trump being Trump. This is something no president in recent memory has done.”
