Michael Moore said the “25th Amendment must be invoked today” and called for the House of Representatives to “impeach” President Donald Trump for his and America’s safety.

“In Trump’s stunning act of open, televised treason yesterday, it is clear the Russians are holding him hostage by whatever they got on him or whatever harm they are threatening to do to a family member of his,” the 64-year-old filmmaker captioned his post on Instagram Tuesday following the presidents summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Finland.

The post included a drawing of a person’s silhouette depicted as Trump holding a gun to an illustration of “America” on her knees.

“For his and our safety, he must be removed from office,” he added. “The 25th Amendment must be invoked today. Likewise, Congress needs no more proof than Trump’s admission yesterday that he sides with Putin for them to impeach and remove him.”

“No hearings are needed,” he continued. “Fast action is a must. The House should vote to Impeach & the Senate should hold the trial. Those who don’t act to do this are collaborators and should be tossed on Nov. 6.”

The comments came in response to Trump suggesting he believes Putin’s denial of Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election when the president held a press conference Monday with the Russian leader. The remarks have been widely criticized by the media and those on the left.
