The cohosts of ABC’s “The View” repeated the debunked claim that Republicans were the first to fund the anti-Trump Steele dossier on Thursday.

Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro joined “The View” on Thursday to talk about her new book “Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.”

Pirro noted that the unverified Steele dossier, paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, played a large role in the Mueller investigation into Russian collusion.

Sunny Hostin insisted that the dossier was “paid for by Republicans first,” to which Pirro replied, “No … it was paid for by the DNC and Hillary Clinton.”

“Paid for by Republicans first,” Hostin repeated with agreement from Whoopi Goldberg.

“I wonder what Republican that was, do you know?” Pirro said sarcastically about the false claim.

“It has been confirmed actually it was a donor to one of his primary opponents,” CNN contributor Ana Navarro replied smugly.

Several journalists have claimed that Republicans first funded the dossier, but really a GOP donor paid for standard opposition research on Trump well before Fusion GPS contracted with Christopher Steele to create the dossier. (RELATED: Media Still Pinning Steele Dossier On Republicans)

Pirro was undeterred by the incorrect assertions by “The View” hosts and instead made the point that the Russia investigation has been going on for 19 months and there has still been no evidence the president colluded with Russia.
