President Donald Trump touted his advocacy for professional football players standing for the national anthem during games to loud cheers before the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

“We don’t apologize for America anymore. We stand up for America, and we stand up for the national anthem,” Trump told the cheering audience.

Trump spent much of his speech recounting his foreign policy record abroad, his administration’s record of increasing military spending, and his recent summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump revealed that he asked Kim Jong Un at the end of his recent meeting with him to repatriate the remains of fallen soldiers during the Korean war more than half-a-century earlier.

“No American left behind,” the president said to the loudest cheers of his speech.
