Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher of California said Friday that he is not surprised the Trump campaign took a meeting with a Russian lawyer who claims to have dirt on Hillary Clinton.

“There’s not a person in this town who would not take a meeting to get material like that,” Rohrabacher told Mother Jones reporter David Corn on Capitol Hill, suggesting he too would take a meeting of the sort.

Rohrabacher was asked his thoughts about the latest Cohen revelations.

“Zero. It’s a big zero,” Robracher responded.

Preisdent Donald Trump has maintained that he had no knowledge of his son Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer in June 2016, who promised to give negative information about Hillary Clinton. The meeting was also attended by Paul Manafort and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, according to The New York Times.

Rohrabacher, who has come under fire for multiple ties to Russia, dismissed the case against alleged Russian agent Maria Butina who has been charged with conspiracy and also acting as a foreign agent. “This is fake news,” he told Corn. “The charges are B.S. She was just a gofer.”
