Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) disguises herself as a Second Amendment supporter to Missourians, but her words are almost as credible as her “RV trip” across the state in a private plane — very fake news, as my father would say.

Like a lot of Missourians, I love hunting and living in a country that protects my right to keep and bear arms. That’s why I don’t want “Air Claire” McCaskill to get another return trip back to Washington in November.

During her 10 years in office, Senator McCaskill has consistently voted against the right to keep and bear arms and has routinely stood with anti-gun liberals like Elizabeth Warren to oppose pro-Second Amendment judges.

For instance, the Senator voted in favor of a bill that would ban common hunting and target-shooting firearms that hold magazines with over 10 rounds, voted against a bill allowing firearms in checked baggage on public trains, and introduced her own bill that would raise the minimum age to buy a rifle to 21 years old.

Senator McCaskill even went so far as to support an “assault weapons” ban with her vote in favor of it in 2013. As any experienced gun owner knows, “assault weapons” exist only in the minds of coastal liberals and are as fake as the stories CNN tries to sell us as news.

McCaskill also doesn’t like my father’s proposal to institute national concealed carry reciprocity, a measure that would allow law-abiding citizens more freedom to responsibly carry firearms wherever they travel. Even though Missouri is one of 31 states to have open carry laws, McCaskill said last year she thinks the bill would “blow up” state laws.

Why is McCaskill upset with more states following her own state’s lead? Maybe the worries of her Democratic colleagues outweigh those of her own constituents.

Evidently, McCaskill’s “F” rating from the National Rifle Association is well-deserved, no matter how much she complains about it to the media.

These are just a few examples of how McCaskill is a party-line voter and no different from extreme radical Democrat leaders such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. One analysis found that she’s voted with the majority of her party 80 percent of the time, and in 2010, she supported Obama 98 percent of the time.

This is a troubling track-record given that Democrats view the Second Amendment as a threat to our country, not a protection of our fundamental, God-given rights. The reality is, they want to do away with guns altogether, as their proposals to limit our access to guns, both incrementally and wholesale, reflect.

Some of McCaskill’s Democrat colleagues in the Senate are even opposing my father’s highly qualified Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh over his defense of the Second Amendment.

Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, for instance,  recently said that Judge Kavanaugh “is the worst nightmare for any advocate of common-sense gun violence prevention … Any measure preventing gun violence is at risk if it’s Justice Kavanaugh.” Senator Dianne Feinstein of California chimed in as well, saying the judge’s views on gun rights are “extreme.”

When the time comes to vote for Kavanaugh, will the concerns of McCaskill’s liberal colleagues weigh more heavily on her decision than her constituents’ best interests? If her track record on is any indication, it will almost surely be the former.

While McCaskill stood with her liberal “resistance” friends to oppose a champion of the 2nd Amendment in Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, she happily supported Barack Obama’s two radical, anti-gun Supreme Court appointees, Elena Kagan and Sonya Sotomayor.

Senator McCaskill’s suggestion that she supports the Second Amendment is fake news and proof that she’s as phony as politicians come. It’s time the Show-Me State had someone who would actually stand for our rights instead of caving to the far-left’s anti-gun agenda.
