Comedian Stephen Colbert mocked President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump on “The Late Show” Thursday, saying she came “admirably close to displaying empathy.”

“Meanwhile, folks, you know who still exists? White House senior adviser and lady about to open the doors and show you the people, Ivanka Trump,” Colbert said. “Today, Ivanka sat down for an interview and came admirably close to displaying empathy.” (RELATED: Stephen Colbert Accuses Trump Of Committing Obstruction Of Justice On Twitter)

Colbert played clips of Ivanka on CSPAN-2 and poked fun at her demeanor when she said family separations at the border became a personal “low point” for her.

Colbert said Ivanka stood idly by while the Trump administration stole children and implied her show of empathy was disingenuous.

“Somehow I got through it by saying and doing nothing,” Colbert joked. “And what does she mean by ‘was’ a low point? It’s still happening. That’s like being inside your burning house going ‘You know when this chair I’m sitting in caught fire, that was a real wake up call. Do you smell anything?'”

Colbert also targeted Donald Trump Jr., saying Ivanka is bound to be even more upset if federal agents come to drag him away.

“But Ivanka assures us that her dad stealing children, is giving her the feels,” he concluded. “Just imagine how upset she’ll be when feds drag away Don Jr.”
