Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continuously dodged CNN’s Chris Cuomo’s questions about whether or not the Democratic Socialist would support House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi during a segment of Cuomo’s show Wednesday night.

“Well, I don’t think that there’s any one head. You know, we are a collective. This is a movement. And I don’t think parties are ever about one person but they’re about how the contributions that each one person gives to the party,” Ocasio-Cortez stated.

“I believe you. Although it is vague and I also believe intentionally so,” Cuomo responded, calling her out. “If you are to be successful in the general, we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but if you win and you go to Congress, there will be a leader of your caucus. Her name is Nancy Pelosi. Do you recognize her as the leader for the House Democrats?”

Ocasio-Cortez endorsed multiple candidates for primaries that took place on Tuesday and all but two lost. Rashida Tlaib (Michigan, thirteenth district) and James Thompson (Kansas, fourth district) won their races. (RELATED: Most Of The Candidates Ocasio-Cortez Endorsed Lost In The Primaries)

“Of course, well, I think absolutely right now, you know she is … she is the leader of … no no, um, she is speaker — or rather leader Pelosi — hopefully we’ll see, she’s ah, she’s the current leader of the party and I think that the party absolutely does have its leadership in the House and Senate as well,” she said.

When asked whether she would support Pelosi in a bid for Speaker, Ocasio-Cortez continued, “Well I think, we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, as you mentioned. I’ve got to win my race first. But we’ve got to take a look at what’s going on. We’ve got to take a look at winning the House back in November. And then once the House is won we have to make that decision from there.”
