Tucker Carlson laughed at socialist Ian Samuel, an associate professor at Indiana University, when he used “made up numbers” to explain Medicare for all on Monday evening segment of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

WATCH:

“Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez among others are now saying we need universal health care,” Carlson stated. “More than 32 trillion dollars over a decade. Doubling the entire federal budget. Don’t just tell me we will pay for it with savings. I mean, how exactly is that going to work in a country already incapable of paying its debt?”

Samuel responded, “If you think Medicare for all is expensive, you should try the alternative. Not doing medicare for all is going to cost $34 trillion dollars. Now those are two big numbers, but I think we both know which is smaller.”

“I love made up numbers,” Carlson said after hysterically laughing.

“Under medicare for all you actually get to cover everybody. Under the present system you don’t, right? And so actually, you get a lot more for less money. And look, that’s the art of the deal my friend,” the professor responded.

Fifty-seven percent of Democrats view socialism favorably, while just 47 percent of Democrats have a positive view of capitalism, according to a new Gallup poll. (RELATED: Polling Milestone: Democrats Officially Prefer Socialism To Capitalism)
