MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough claimed special counsel Robert Mueller would defeat President Donald Trump in an electoral landslide Wednesday on “Morning Joe,” if they faced each other in a head-to-head match up.

Co-host Willie Geist began by citing CNN polls showing 70 percent of respondents wanting Trump to testify under oath and 56 percent saying Trump has lied to the American public. (RELATED: Scarborough Says Republicans Will Pay A Heavy Price Once Trump Leaves Office)

“The numbers are striking in so many ways,” Scarborough replied.

He also claimed Trump gets more credit than he deserves because of his shocking election upset against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

“Donald Trump shocked so many people in mainstream media — shocked so many people across America in November of 2016 — everybody getting angry if you even suggested he had a chance of winning. He shocked them so much that now they think that — that he can politically. He’s always playing the long game,” Scarborough continued.

“He’s always got a rabbit in his hat. He’s always got the ace of spades up his sleeves. He’s always going to win. Not the case.”

Scarborough then mentioned a hypothetical showdown between Trump and Mueller and claimed Mueller would destroy Trump in a landslide.

“The guy has a 39 percent approval rating in Gallup, and time and time again you look at this poll. If this were an election between Bob Mueller and Donald Trump, Mueller has won in a landslide in every single category,” he concluded.
